Honesty in marketing - a useful planning thing

So... at a presentation with a WiRE group the other week, a planning tool that struck a chord with all the entrepreneurs in the room was the idea of writing everything that is good and bad about your company / product and using this brutally honest information to help identify areas to focus resources. It's funny how the words "honest" and "marketing" individually are acceptable but strung together in a sentence they seem to make people raise their eyebrows.
