Email marketing - keeping it clean

We're working for an email verification company at the moment, writing blog copy, PR articles and testimonials to support their expansion strategy. On the surface you might think it's just marketers that care about clean email addresses, as they have to provide evidence of results and email open/ bounce / failed statistics leave no room for manoeuvre. However, when the benefits of saving time, keeping off blacklists, increasing ROI and avoiding the squealers (nothing to do with bacon!) are explored we're finding email verification fans throughout the companies we're talking to. Over and again we keep hearing people enthusing about Mailchimp for managing lists and sending emails. We're not working for Mailchimp (!) but we've used them for years. If you are sending emails regularly as part of your marketing communications and you haven't come across them should look them up.
