Inclusive tourism marketing and really cute pigs
Spent the day yesterday at Pennywell Farm in South Devon, an award winning tourist attraction and hosts of the Tourism Springboard event. So many tourism professionals in one place, watching leaping lambs and listening to thought provoking talks from (amongst others) Malcolm Bell at Visit Cornwall and Carolyn Custerson of Visit Devon / English Riviera Tourism Company. There is a lot of information to draw from the event but in the short term a key message to share is this:
Demographics in visitors to the area are changing, so attractions need to focus on "inclusiveness" i.e. providing an experience that will span four generations.
